A
majority of my designs are based off of my interest in painting. I included
a museum into my designs for the house. In the original Farnsworth House there
is no wall space to hang any artwork because all of the walls are glass. I set
a second room off of the original building that contains a floor to ceiling
wooden wall in the middle of the room that can hold artwork. I also only added
strip windows from floor to ceiling so that there would be wall space to hang
pictures also. The windows are placed in such a way that they will allow light
in, but not directly on the paintings so as not to damage them. I also placed
a large sculptural piece in the park that is a big frame that someone can sit
on to paint or enjoy the view.
